About The Position

The Management Department at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for one tenure-track faculty position in Strategic Management at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2026. The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate-level courses in strategic management, conducting scholarly activities that result in quality peer-reviewed publications, student advising, and service to advance the mission of the department, school, and university. Instructional duties include teaching five classes per academic year.

Requirements

• This position requires a Ph.D. in Strategic Management or a closely related field, either granted or nearly completed at the time of application.
• ABD candidates who will have their Ph.D. conferred by August 1, 2026, will be appointed as Assistant Professor.
• ABD candidates whose Ph.D. is not conferred by August 1, 2026, will be appointed as a Lecturer for a one-year fixed-term appointment at a slightly reduced salary. Degree verification must be provided before the end of the one-year contract. Upon conferral of the Ph.D., the individual will be appointed as Assistant Professor with commensurate compensation beginning July 1, 2027.
