The School of Architecture at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa (UH Manoa) seeks a dynamic and accomplished faculty member in landscape architecture with expertise in designing ecologically and socially sustainable, resilient, healthy places and communities. Position duties include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels; research, professional practice, and/or creative work; and service. The school seeks candidates who can demonstrate current, advanced scholarship and design inquiry that exhibits an in-depth understanding of the landscape architecture discipline, as well as strong teaching abilities and demonstrated effectiveness in studio instruction. This appointment will begin in Fall 2025 and will be filled at the rank of Assistant Professor. The School of Architecture offers a pre-professional Bachelor of Environmental Design (BEnvD) degree, an LAAB-accredited Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) degree, a Master of Architecture (MArch) degree, and a NAAB-accredited Doctor of Architecture (DArch) degree. The school is recognized for its social and environmental design research in Asia-Pacific, Hawai'i, and tropical environments, which provides instructive models for complex global problems. The school and university embrace a collaborative, integrated approach to improving built environments with a strong commitment to design excellence, sustainability, and applied research. The school houses the University of Hawai'i Community Design Center and the Environmental Research and Design Lab (ERDL), both of which provide opportunities for innovative faculty design research.
