About The Position
The Department of Biological Sciences at Ohio University invites applications for a full time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction. This position is renewable annually depending upon available funding, performance, and continuing departmental need. The ideal candidate will have expertise in microbiology and will be expected to teach undergraduate biology courses covering topics in basic genetics, molecular and cellular biology, and microbiology. They must be able to design and deliver engaging lectures and laboratories to cater to varied learning styles and have demonstrated a strong commitment to student success. The courses will be delivered mostly in person at the Athens Campus, but there will be opportunities to teach online courses. The teaching load for this position is typically three to four courses per semester, based on departmental needs. Further responsibilities will include service to the department, college, or university as well as advising students in the Biological Sciences department.
