About The Position
Simmons University is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track position as an Assistant Professor of History, beginning in Fall 2025. The position is open regarding the geographic region of specialization, with a preference for candidates who can teach courses on Latin America and the Caribbean or the Middle East/Islamic World. The ideal candidate will have research and teaching interests that trace the social and cultural construction of gender and the history of sexuality. The successful candidate will complement the current faculty's offerings in terms of region, chronology, or methodology, with desirable areas of interest including public humanities, African diaspora, world history, labor history, migration history, environmental history, and the history of science and medicine.
