About The Position

A faculty member at Alfred University is expected to participate actively in the life of the University, both inside and outside of the classroom. Requirements

Terminal degree or equivalent in related discipline
Potential as a teacher-and-potential for scholarship/creative research is sufficiently promising

Responsibilities

Meet all classes as scheduled by the Office of the Registrar.
Supervision of fieldwork, internships, or independent study.
Notify students and the Chair as soon as possible, preferably in advance, if unable to attend an assigned class.
Reschedule missed class( es).
Thesis supervision
Classroom Management
Adhere to the Alfred University Grading Policy.
Submit grades to the registrar by the date and time announced by the registrar
Maintain a consistent, sustained, and successful record of peer-reviewed activity, as appropriate to their School, College, or Library
Actively participate in advising students
Maintain professional or discipline-based involvement external to the University
Participate in a conscientious, collegial manner in the life of the University, including departmental meetings, faculty meetings, and University-wide events
Participate in safety training and comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocols
Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned
