About The Position

The Department of Health and Kinesiology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Exercise Physiology. We seek an innovative educator and scholar who is prepared to engage students in classroom and laboratory settings, and who brings a strong foundation in applied exercise science, clinical exercise physiology, or related areas of human performance. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to scholarly inquiry and to inclusive, student-centered teaching. We are especially interested in educators who use active, inquiry-based, and culturally responsive approaches that inspire and support students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise physiology and related areas such as exercise testing and prescription, clinical exercise physiology, biomechanics, and fitness assessment.
  • Guide and mentor students in the human performance laboratory, including research activities, applied testing, and experiential learning
  • Provide academic advising to students in the Exercise Physiology program and related areas.
  • Support students in undergraduate research, senior capstone projects, and professional preparation.
  • Foster inclusive and engaged teaching and advising practices that respond to the needs of first-generation college students, students of color, and students from underrepresented or underserved backgrounds.
  • Maintain an active program of research that creates opportunities for student involvement and scholarly growth.
  • Contribute to departmental and university service and actively engage in community partnerships.
  • Participate in curriculum development, program review, and accreditation activities that strengthen the department's academic programs.
