About The Position

The Saint Mary's College Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Exercise Science beginning Fall 2026. The position involves a teaching load of 9 teaching contact hours per semester, which includes courses such as Nutrition for science majors and non-majors, Anatomy and Physiology, and introductory and upper-level courses in Exercise Science. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active research program that involves undergraduate researchers and provide service to the Biology Department and the broader campus community. This includes attending meetings and faculty events, academic advising of students, and participating in Departmental and Campus committees according to the candidate’s interests.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Exercise Science, Nutrition, Sports Medicine, Biology, or a terminal degree in a related field.
  • Strong commitment to inclusive pedagogy and teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts context.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 9 contact hours per semester, including courses in Nutrition, Anatomy and Physiology, and Exercise Science.
