Assistant Professor of English

The Department of Humanities, Political Science and Global Studies at Cedar Crest College invites qualified applicants to apply for a full-time, non-tenure track position of Assistant Professor of English with an open area of specialization to include Literature, Rhetoric and Composition, Writing, or other related Humanities discipline (such as Comparative Literature, History, Global Studies, and Cultural Studies). The new faculty member will be part of a multidisciplinary department and will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues from English, History, Political Science, Global Studies, Writing, and Spanish for department and college-wide initiatives, including but not limited to introductory writing courses. We are particularly interested in candidates who can cross disciplinary boundaries and have experience in public or digital humanities. The full-time, nine-month, renewable (non-tenure track) position entails 24 credits of teaching per academic year (four 3-credit courses per semester), including offering online and evening courses as needed in the program schedule. The new faculty member is expected to be an active presence on campus: serving on department and College-wide committees, assisting with departmental clubs and honor societies, advising, and supporting our diverse student population more generally.
