About The Position
The Department of English, World Languages, and Cultural Studies at Bethune-Cookman University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English position. The successful candidate will teach first-year composition and upper-division writing and literature courses based on their credentials and enrollment needs. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or a terminal degree in English, rhetoric , creative writing, literature , or a related field, with at least 18 graduate hours in English. literature, or writing.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience teaching writing at a college or university
- Experience using or integrating learning management tools such as Canvas.
- Experience in teaching historically disadvantaged populations and first-generation students is desired.
Responsibilities
- Excellence in teaching and a commitment to scholarship.
- Teach four courses each semester
- Maintain 1O regularly scheduled office hours on a weekly basis.
- Contribute to departmental service
