Minimum Qualifications Master’s Degree in Education with at least 18 graduate credits in the area of instruction (e.g., Early Childhood Education, Child Development) Montessori credentialed at the primary level (ages 3-6) from a MACTE approved training program ( AMI or AMS ) Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program in Early Childhood Education (Birth to Grade 3) or K-6 with Preprimary Endorsement A minimum of 3 years full time experience as the lead teacher or teacher of record in an early childhood Montessori classroom Knowledge of a broad variety of early childhood education theories, curriculum and program models Knowledge of and commitment to anti-bias and anti-racist pedagogy and curriculum Preferred Qualifications Doctoral level degree in Education or related field American Montessori Society ( AMS ) certified Current or past professional license that align(s) with available courses Critical, self-reflective pedagogy, and anti-oppressive practice experience Experience teaching and mentoring diverse populations Experience working with non-traditional adult college students Experience delivering instruction in both face-to-face and online learning environments Experience supervising and supporting teachers We seek creative, adaptable staff who enjoy working in a university climate that promotes cultural diversity, multicultural understanding, and cultural fluency.
