About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, a four-year undergraduate college of the University of Pittsburgh, invites applications for an appointment stream Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, beginning August 2026—Ph—Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or related field and prior college teaching experience required. Prior relevant professional experience is also required. Teaching assignment includes introductory-level criminal justice courses and upper-level courses in one or more of the following areas: criminal investigations, policing, cybercrime, forensic sciences, juvenile justice, or court procedure. The teaching load is four courses per semester. Candidates should exhibit skill and enthusiasm in teaching undergraduates and developing innovative experiential learning opportunities and internships in the surrounding community, and be willing to participate in all phases of departmental, divisional, and college activities. Review of applications will begin February 16, 2026, and continue until the position is filled.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or related field
  • Prior college teaching experience
