About The Position
The Cognitive Science Program at Dartmouth College is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a start date as early as July 1, 2025. This position is aimed at scholars who work at the intersection of natural and artificial intelligence, a field that is increasingly relevant in today's technological landscape. The successful candidate will be appointed within the Cognitive Science Program, which is part of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and will have close ties to the Department of Computer Science. This collaboration will involve teaching at least one course per year that is cross-listed between the two departments, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to education and research. Dartmouth College, a prestigious member of the Ivy League, is located in Hanover, New Hampshire. The Cognitive Science Program is known for its innovative curriculum and promotes collegial interaction among faculty and students across various departments, including the Thayer School of Engineering, Tuck School of Business, and Geisel School of Medicine. Faculty members in the Cognitive Science Program also have the opportunity to advise graduate students through the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences, and the new hire may also mentor graduate students in Computer Science. The Guarini School for Graduate and Advanced Studies supports graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, particularly through its diversity and inclusion initiatives. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in mentoring young scholars and contributing to undergraduate research, with opportunities to engage in programs sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Advising and Research.
