About The Position

UTMB is seeking a full-time physician at the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice within the Division of Nephrology. This position emphasizes high-quality clinical care, active participation in teaching, and engagement in the academic mission of the department. The successful candidate will join a team of faculty dedicated to providing outstanding nephrology care and advancing excellence in clinical education and scholarly activity.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in Nephrology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and/or outpatient nephrology care, including management of chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and related conditions.
• Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and didactic settings.
• Participate in departmental and divisional quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and care coordination.
• Contribute to curriculum development, clinical training, and academic programming.
