About the Division of General Medicine The Division of General Medicine at UTMB is dedicated to providing comprehensive patient-centered care for adults through excellence in clinical care, education, and research. With 38 faculty , 4 APPs , and 99 residents, the Division delivers high-quality care across diverse settings, including ambulatory clinics, inpatient services, and community outreach programs. The Division plays a key role in advancing primary and hospital-based care by integrating multidisciplinary approaches that emphasize prevention, chronic disease management, care coordination, and population health. Faculty members actively engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, fostering an environment that supports lifelong learning and professional growth. Research and scholarly activity are integral to the Division’s work, with ongoing projects focused on healthcare delivery innovation, chronic disease outcomes, health equity, and evidence-based practice. Through close collaboration with UTMB’s academic and clinical partners, the Division of General Medicine continues to shape the future of internal medicine through education, innovation, and service. Position Summary UTMB is seeking a full-time ambulatory care physician at the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice within the Division of General Medicine. This position emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered clinical care, active participation in teaching, and engagement in the academic mission of the department. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of faculty focused on improving health outcomes and advancing excellence in medical education.
