Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas.

  • Experience in an academic medical center or teaching environment.
  • Demonstrated involvement in scholarly activity, clinical research, or quality improvement projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and/or outpatient endocrinology care, including the management of diabetes, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, and metabolic disorders.
  • Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and didactic settings.
  • Participate in departmental and divisional quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and care coordination.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, clinical training, and academic programming.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with UTMB policies.
  • Participate in departmental and divisional meetings, faculty development activities, and other academic initiatives.
