About The Position

The University of Washington's Department of Medicine is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice in General Internal Medicine, specifically for the Hospitalist role at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. This position involves serving as an attending physician, teaching residents and medical students, and engaging in scholarship and service. The role is non-tenure track and includes a three-year initial appointment with the possibility of renewal. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025.

Requirements

  • Medical (MD or DO) degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligibility for Washington State Medical License.
  • At least five years of teaching experience in a university setting with medical students and residents.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a clinical practice setting.
  • Familiarity with VA healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an attending physician on the Hospital & Specialty Medicine Service Line.
  • Teach residents and medical students through clinical service.
