About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician to join our pediatricians in an outpatient clinical setting. The position includes assessments and treatment of ADHD, learning disabilities, and behavioral issues in children. The position is as a developmental behavioral pediatrician in the Developmental Behavior Pediatrics Section. The duties will include but not be exclusive to: Provides clinical care with a focus on early relational health, the earliest presenting signs of developmental or behavioral health conditions, and conducts assessments and follow up visits according to the highest standards of care. Provide developmental assessments and clinical care to pediatric patients, working collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Teach to a variety of learners, including pediatric residents, fellows, and medical students Contributes to medical and developmental evaluations and outpatient follow-up care. Oversees medical support personnel and contributes to the formation of the Developmental Pediatrics Section. Provision of diagnostic and treatment services for various conditions, including ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disability, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Participation in one or more multidisciplinary clinical teams. Collaboration on special projects, including research, quality improvement projects, and program development. Staying current with literature in developmental behavioral pediatrics. Participating in the academic mission of the Department of Pediatrics Mentoring residents in presenting (staff conference, paper, abstract, poster) Potentially developing, completing, and publishing, clinical research project Developing and/or participating in QI projects Night call commensurate with the others in the section as appropriate. Maintaining a valid Florida medical license Maintaining a valid DEA license Marketing opportunities as determined by the Section Chief of Developmental Behavior Pediatrics Any other duties – clinical or administrative as necessary support the division. Other possible opportunities include: Clinical research within the clinical work. Grant application for funded research University or Medical School or Departmental Committee work

Requirements

  • Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of a pediatric residency program
  • Fellowship training in developmental-behavioral pediatrics
  • Board certification or board eligible in developmental-behavioral pediatrics
