Requirements

• Must be an M.D or D.O. who is Board Certified or Board eligible in Anatomic Pathology, or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
• Strong knowledge in general Surgical Pathology and subspecialty of practice.
• Ability to enhance communication and relations in a diverse professional workforce.
• Experience with methods, tools, and measurements for quality improvement.
• Knowledge of regulations and standards of JCAHO, CAP, and CLIA.
• Ability to work independently and make reliable recommendations and diagnoses.
• Knowledge of hospital and service procedures regarding hazardous material management.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care services focused on assigned specialty or specialties.
• Perform gross description, take photographs of specimens, conduct tissue sampling, and perform microscopic examinations of surgical specimens.
• Order appropriate ancillary testing and report findings in a timely manner.
• Perform Frozen Section diagnoses and report autopsies in a timely manner.
• Provide 24-hour call coverage according to assigned division.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and site disease group meetings.
• Contribute to the educational activities of pathology residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Engage in collaborative research opportunities and seek funding from grants and contracts.
• Participate in daily quality assurance and departmental committees.
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings, conferences, and events.
