Campbell University Divinity School invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track faculty as assistant or associate professor of Christian History beginning August 2025. The appointee will teach introductory and advanced courses in Christian history, including courses in denominational studies and women in the Christian tradition. The teaching load is nine hours per semester and may include classroom-based, intensive, online, or hybrid modalities. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to support the larger curriculum of the Divinity School, e.g., by teaching additional courses in a secondary subject or providing direction for a component of the curriculum such as the Doctor of Ministry program. Assigned teaching may be in any of the Divinity School's four degree programs: Master of Arts in Faith & Leadership Formation, Master of Arts in Christian Ministry, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry. The salary and rank will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. Contract year is nine months. Additional teaching opportunities are possible in the summer for additional compensation. The appointee must be supportive of the Christian purpose of Campbell University and the mission of the Divinity School to provide Christ-centered, Bible-based, ministry-focused theological education. The appointee must demonstrate awareness of Christianity in both the western and non-western world and be able to relate to the diverse cultural backgrounds and denominational traditions represented within the Divinity School student body and its constituents. Commitment to the service of the church and willingness to represent the Divinity School through speaking and teaching engagements in local congregations and other settings is expected. Commitment to academic excellence and the ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, students, and staff is expected.
