About The Position

The Department of Biomedical Engineering and Science (BES) at Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Biomedical Engineering Program, with a start date of August 2026. The position is intended primarily at the Assistant Professor level; however, exceptional candidates may be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence at both undergraduate and graduate levels, develop a nationally recognized and externally funded research program, and contribute to the institution and the profession through service. The typical allocation of duties for this position is 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Broad research interests in biomedical engineering.
  • Expertise in Biomechanics, Biofluid, Medical Device Design, Bioinstrumentation, Bio-Imaging, and Neuro Engineering is particularly encouraged.
