About The Position

The University of Findlay invites applications for a full-time, faculty position in the Department of Biology at the rank of Instructor of Teaching or tenure-track Assistant Professor, beginning in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of anatomy and physiology courses, including both human and animal systems, as well as introductory biology courses for majors and non-majors. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include developing student-centered pedagogy that promotes active learning, participating in curriculum development and departmental assessment, advising and mentoring undergraduate students, supervising undergraduate research projects (tenure-track), and contributing to departmental and university service.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in biology or a related field for Instructor level.
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in teaching anatomy and physiology and introductory biology courses.
  • Ph.D. in biology or a closely related field preferred for Assistant Professor level.
  • Strong record or clear potential for mentoring undergraduate research.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity appropriate for involving undergraduates.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching and engagement of diverse student populations.
