About The Position

The Department of Behavior Analysis at the University of North Texas invites applications for a full‐time, tenure track Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2026. The ideal candidate will direct a strong programmatic line of research that makes a scholarly impact in the discipline and is either currently externally funded or has the potential for external funding. The candidate's research program will involve students as junior colleagues, align with departmental priorities, and make synergistic use of the partners and collaborators available in the college and the university. The ideal candidate will contribute to the academic success of behavior analysis students through individualized mentorship across practical experiences and research projects and by developing and teaching courses in their areas of expertise.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Behavior Analysis or a related discipline from an accredited institution; Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by August 31, 2026.
  • Evidence of research with high potential for external support.
  • Experience with college teaching in at least one area of behavior analysis or related area, including roles such as instructor of record or teaching assistant
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Current certification as, or eligibility for certification as, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral (BCBA-D), and eligibility for licensure in Texas.
  • Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current pedagogical and instructional technologies that are adaptive to student needs;
  • Demonstrated knowledge in several areas of behavior analytic content;
  • Demonstrated scholarship with potential for grants and publication record in area(s) of expertise;
  • Demonstrated in‐depth skill and knowledge in specific area(s) of expertise and scholarship;
  • Experience with college teaching in multiple modes of instruction, including in‐person, hybrid, online synchronous, and/or online asynchronous instruction;
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting student success and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in teaching through direct teaching and mentoring;
  • Expertise in one of the following specialty areas: Autism Intervention Behavior Analysis in Education Behavioral Gerontology Behavioral Medicine and Health Community-Based Participatory Research Instructional Design & Learning Technology Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Organizational Behavior Management in Health and Human Services
