Francis Marion University and the Fine Arts Department invite applications for an Assistant Professor in Art History. This position focuses on teaching courses including comprehensive surveys, Western Art, US Art, Native American Art, Islamic and African Art, Contemporary Art and more. The position requires teaching Art History and contributing to the development of the Visual Arts program. We seek candidates with an accomplished research record and agenda in Art History and Theory. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to engaging in historical, theoretical, contemporary, and critical issues in art. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a vigorous program of scholarship and to teach introductory courses while developing upper-level courses in Art History.
