The Cummings School of Architecture at Roger Williams University is seeking two tenure-track Assistant Professors to join our dynamic faculty. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, particularly in architectural design studios. We are looking for individuals with a strong commitment to design excellence and a passion for sustainable and resilient design practices. The ideal candidates will have the ability to teach across various levels of design studio sequences, from Beginning/Core to Advanced Topics and Urban studios, as well as Graduate studios. In addition to architectural design, candidates should have expertise in Digital Media and Representation coursework, which is essential for Architectural Analysis and Advanced Elective courses. Areas of specialization may include generative and parametric design, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Building Performance Simulations, and applications related to preservation. Furthermore, knowledge of Construction Materials and Assemblies, including contemporary and historic building technologies, is crucial for this role. The Cummings School prides itself on fostering a strong collegial and interdisciplinary culture among faculty and students. Faculty members are expected to engage in program development, advise students, and contribute to the academic community through scholarly, creative, and professional work. The teaching load may vary, with options for one design studio and one course, or three courses per semester. Candidates with full-time teaching experience may be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor level.
