The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is seeking an Assistant Professor of Animal Science with specialization in Microbiome and/or Bacterial Immunology. This is a 12-month, tenure-track position with an 80% focus on research at the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and 20% on teaching at the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a nationally-competitive and extramurally-funded research program aimed at improving sustainable animal production, enhancing food production efficiency, nutrient retention, and the quality of human food products, while also studying the effects of gut microbiome populations and functions. The role includes collaboration with faculty and industry personnel, securing funding, and participating in interdisciplinary research efforts.
