About The Position

The Department of Political Science and Public Administration is seeking a 9-month, tenure-earning, Assistant Professor of American Politics and/or Public Administration/Public Policy. Position responsibilities include a 2/2 teaching load, research/scholarship, and service.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Government, or a related discipline is required by the employment start date.

Nice To Haves

  • The department seeks a dynamic scholar for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in American Politics, Public Administration, and/or Public Policy.
  • Candidates with a primary background in just one of these fields are encouraged to apply, though the ideal candidate would be able to contribute to multiple areas.
  • Subfield expertise is open with respect to research focus, although the department welcomes applications from candidates with expertise in data science, particularly the application of data-driven approaches to public policy questions.
  • The successful candidate would be able to utilize the department’s top 15 nationally ranked polling center and would also have opportunities to teach in the department’s NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration (MPA) program.
  • The department also has curricular needs in American politics, public administration, and research methods.
