About The Position
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is seeking an Assistant Professor of African American Literature and Culture for the College of Liberal Arts, starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. This tenure-track position involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, maintaining an active research agenda, and contributing to the Department of Literatures and Cultural Studies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop new courses and engage in interdisciplinary research, aligning with UTRGV's strategic goals as a Carnegie R2 institution with R1 aspirations.
