Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Engineering from an accredited institution (ABD considered) and experience working in manufacturing
  • To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses to support the Bachelor of Science in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering program (Automation, Fluid Power, GD&T, Instrumentation, Machine Analysis, Manufacturing Process Planning, PLC Applications, Quality Planning and Control, Smart Manufacturing, etc.), maintaining an active research or professional development agenda, and sustaining interaction with the engineering profession.
  • Other duties will include engagement with business and industry; assessment of student learning; career advisement; student recruitment and retention activities; participation in college and University committees.
  • The position reports to the department head of engineering in the College of Business and Industry.
  • Classroom instruction
  • Scholarly activity and/or professional development sufficient to maintain faculty appointment
  • Service to college and University, including career advising, grants, and committees
  • Curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Assessment of student learning
  • Engagement with advisory boards
  • Activities in support of the recruitment and retention of students
  • Attendance and participation in all faculty and administrative meetings, Student Research Symposium, commencement ceremonies, and other meetings/events as required
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates.
  • Requires consistent on-time attendance.
