About The Position

The School of Engineering is seeking a 9-month, tenure-earning, Assistant Professor of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. This position will report to Dr. Alan Harris, Director of the School of Engineering. Position responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses with a 2/2 teaching load, leading an externally funded research program in their field and service to the School, College of Computing, Engineering and Construction and the University of North Florida. Anticipated Start Date: The position is expected to begin on August 3, 2026.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or closely-related field
  • Demonstrated record of scholarly achievement
  • Evidence of teaching excellence

Nice To Haves

  • Specialization in control and automation, advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0, additive manufacturing, supply chain / transportation / logistics or operations research
  • Potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with existing faculty and local industry
  • Strong commitment to teaching excellence
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning
  • Collegiality, active service, and participation in departmental governance
