About The Position
The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences and Department of Nursing at Brock University are seeking a Black Scholar, Registered Nurse, with a completed PhD in nursing, to submit an application for a probationary tenure-track position, at the rank of Assistant Professor with a start date of July 1, 2026, or an earlier agreed-upon start date. This position consists of 40% teaching, 40% research and scholarly activities, and 20% service. The successful candidate will support teaching needs in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Applicants must show a strong commitment to Primary Health Care principles, as well as diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
Requirements

- Registered Nurse
- PhD in nursing
- Proven record of excellence in teaching diverse nursing courses
- Expertise in course development
- Skilled at providing high-quality instruction
- Excellent communication, leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Relevant clinical experience
- Registered Nurses in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario or be eligible to obtain registration prior to February 27, 2026
Nice To Haves
- Background in teaching large classes
- Clinical background in medical/surgical nursing, or critical care is preferred
- Evidence of a developing program of research
- Research that includes vulnerable populations or health inequities among equity-deserving populations would be an asset
- Evidence of successful student supervision at the undergraduate or graduate levels is an asset
