About The Position

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Nursing is seeking exceptional candidates for non-tenured Assistant Professor positions in Human Development Nursing Science. This role focuses on teaching and conducting research in areas such as prematurity, pediatric and adolescent health, and racial concordant care. Faculty will contribute to the preparation of competent nurses and advance healthcare science for women, children, and families.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree or PhD in nursing or related sciences at the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pre-licensure and APRN practice of Obstetric nursing (Certified Nurse Midwife, Women's Health APRN).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in distance learning and small group clinical instruction.
  • National certification/credentials in area of specialization.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels through lectures, seminars, and clinical instruction.
  • Demonstrate practice expertise in the area of specialization, utilizing current knowledge and research in teaching.
  • Articulate a plan for a program of scholarship related to nursing practice.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including presentations and publications.
  • Contribute to the service mission of the university, participating in professional organizations and community service.
