The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at East Tennessee State University seeks a 9-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Math Education position beginning August 2026 to teach in-person, online, and/or hybrid courses on the main campus and at the ETSU-Sevierville campus in teacher educator programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate mathematics methods courses in the elementary education program which has seen a 25% increase in enrollment over the past two years. At the graduate level, the successful applicant may teach in the Master of Arts in Teaching and/or Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction programs, both of which have experienced over a 30% increase in enrollment in the past year. In addition to teaching, candidates are expected to engage in research and scholarly activities and in service to the department, college, university, and profession. The typical annual workload is 60% teaching, 20% research, and 20% service. The successful applicant may also supervise teacher candidates in the field.
