About The Position

The School of Kinesiology, Recreation & Sport (KRS) invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-eligible, faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2026 in the Recreation & Sport Administration (RSA) graduate program. The School of KRS is an academic unit within the College of Health & Human Services and offers a Master of Science in Recreation & Sport Administration and graduate certificates in Facility & Event Management and Intercollegiate Athletic Administration. The school also offers undergraduate programs in Exercise Science; Physical Education; Recreation, Park, and Nonprofit Administration, and Sport Management. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, research, and service. Teaching: Primary responsibilities for this position include teaching various graduate courses in the RSA online (distance learning) graduate program, with the potential of teaching traditional (in-person) undergraduate courses. Advising graduate students in the degree and certificate programs is expected. Scholarship: Engage in active and ongoing scholarly production, including peer-reviewed presentations, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and securing research funding. Maintain awareness of current research trends and topics associated with recreation and sport. Service: Actively participate in service activities (school, college, and university levels) and professional service. Contribute to student recruitment efforts. Requirements

  • Terminal degree in Sport Administration/Management, Recreation, or a related field
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness in relevant subject areas
  • Ability to articulate a well-defined research agenda
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
