About The Position

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is seeking a dedicated Assistant Professor in the School of Accountancy within the Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship. This tenure-track position is aimed at candidates who will contribute to teaching, research, and service, with a focus on publishing in high-impact academic journals and teaching at various academic levels. The successful candidate will play a significant role in the accounting concentration of the PhD program, starting in the 2025-2026 academic year.

Requirements

• Ph.D. degree in Accounting (ABD candidates will be considered, but the degree must be completed by the start date).
• Record of elite or high impact scholarship as evidenced by a portfolio of high-quality published and/or ongoing research.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness in accounting courses at the college/university level.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• License or Certification in accounting (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Publish scholarly research in elite or high impact academic journals.
• Teach undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level courses in accounting.
• Contribute to the accounting concentration in the PhD program.
• Engage in service activities within the university and the academic community.
