The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Professor in Structural Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction Department (CEEC) [R0149915]. ROLE of the POSITION The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction (CEEC) of the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the structural engineering area commencing Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous and sustainable funded research program in their area of expertise, mentor to graduate undergraduate and graduate students, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their expertise area related to structural engineering and mechanics, and participate in service to the Department, College, University, and profession. PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT The CEEC Department has 17 full-time faculty members in 6 technical areas. Three of these faculty members have received the prestigious NSF CAREER award. Current enrollment of the department includes about 600 undergraduate students and 80 graduate students. A 3000 ft2 structural engineering laboratory permits conducting medium-to-large scale experiments. High speed computing facilities are available at the National Supercomputing Center for Energy and the Environment hosted in the College of Engineering. UNLV GPU Cluster (named RebelX) is also available for A.I. research and education. GPU Cluster, supported by NSF MRI (#2117941), provides high-performance computing resources of 48 GPUs, including 16 NVIDIA A30, 16 NVIDIA A40, and 16 NVIDIA A100.
