There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.
The University of California, Riverside (UCR) is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant level in the field of metabolomics, with a focus on cellular and physiological adaptive responses, as well as plant metabolism and nutrition. This position is part of a significant initiative aimed at expanding UCR's faculty in metabolomics over the coming years. The successful candidate will contribute to UCR's existing strengths in various research areas, including the evolution of secondary metabolic pathways, medicinal plants, plant secondary metabolites, and human health. Additionally, the role will involve engaging in emerging research areas such as microbiomes, eco-metabolomics, and quantitative metabolomic imaging, along with downstream analyses. Candidates for this position will hold appointments in the Department of Botany and Plant Sciences. A Ph.D. degree and postdoctoral experience are required, along with a proven track record of notable scientific contributions, demonstrated through high-quality peer-reviewed publications. The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent research program and show potential for securing extramural funding. Furthermore, candidates should possess cutting-edge expertise in developing or applying metabolomics tools, including LC-MS/MS, MS imaging, and NMR-based metabolomics, to address key biological questions. In addition to research responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to teach courses related to biochemistry and metabolomics, and later contribute to the development of a master's program in metabolomics. UCR is ranked among the nation's Top 15 Public Research Universities, providing access to state-of-the-art facilities operated by the Institute of Integrative Genome Biology (IIGB), which includes a Metabolomics Core, as well as cores dedicated to bioinformatics, microscopy, proteomics, and sequencing. Faculty members are encouraged to collaborate broadly with colleagues at UCR and beyond, and entrepreneurship is actively supported.
