About The Position

The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) is seeking an Assistant Professor in Marine Biology for a 9-month tenure track position starting in August 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a robust, extramurally funded research program while contributing to the teaching mission at both graduate and undergraduate levels. The role emphasizes collaboration with existing faculty strengths and the development of regional research initiatives, particularly in marine botany, phycology, mycology, and marine genomics.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Marine Biology or related discipline.
  • Postdoctoral experience or other professional research experience at the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching.
