About The Position

The successful candidate will deliver creative and effective teaching in studio-based courses across the landscape architecture core curriculum, engage in significant, peer-reviewed research, scholarship, and/or creative activities, supervise independent graduate research, participate in departmental governance, participate in university and professional service, and contribute to an environment that fosters a collegial environment and cooperative interactions with coworkers, students, and others. The Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning (LARCP) in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design (APDesign) at Kansas State University (K-State) in Manhattan, Kansas seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Landscape Architecture position. A tenure-track Associate Professor position may be considered based on applicant's qualifications.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in landscape architecture or a closely allied field.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of student interests and academic levels.
  • Ability to teach classes in at least one of the following areas: Comprehensive MLA culminating courses (studio and seminar), Socio-ecological systems using GIS and/or GeoDesign, Foundational design for the College's first-year students, Site planning and design.
  • Evidence of, or potential for, successful research, scholarship, and/or creative activity with a focused agenda.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
