About The Position

The University of Southern Maine's Department of Engineering invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated passion for teaching and will teach computer engineering undergraduate courses, including electronics, and engage students in undergraduate research. Candidates are expected to contribute to the development of the Computer Engineering program and its curriculum. Candidates are invited to affiliate research with initiatives at the Dubyak Center for Digital Science and Innovation. The Department of Engineering offers ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. Our programs are characterized by small class sizes and a rigorous, hands-on approach. We leverage industrial partnerships to graduate future technology leaders with modern skillsets to drive innovation.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in computer engineering, electrical engineering or similar discipline by the date of employment.
• Demonstrated commitment to student success, active learning, and community and industry engagement.
