About The Position

Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Physiology beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. The vibrant undergraduate human physiology program is seeking a skilled teacher-scholar with a commitment to excellent undergraduate teaching and inclusive and equity-minded learning environments to join the ranks of our growing School of Health Sciences. Teaching responsibilities would be in the area of biomechanics and related courses in our curriculum. Our department moved into a state-of-the-art facility in 2023 that includes a fully equipped biomechanics research lab with a markerless motion capture system, six force plate array, isokinetic dynamometer, and eight-channel wireless EMG system. Additional lab spaces in the department include an exercise physiology lab, an environmental chamber, a cellular & molecular lab, and more.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Human Physiology or a related field.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity initiatives.
  • Experience in teaching at the undergraduate level.

  • Experience with biomechanics research and lab equipment.
  • A well-conceived plan for engaging and teaching students from diverse backgrounds.
