The Regional Director for the Aerospace Career Academy (ACA) is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and administration of middle school, high school, and dual enrollment Embry Riddle aerospace programs across the designated counties in Florida. This role serves as the primary liaison among teachers, administrative personnel, and district staff, ensuring seamless program operation and fostering a robust learning environment. Key responsibilities include facilitating the enrollment and onboarding process for all ACA aerospace programs in the region, and addressing any issues related to scheduling, course selection, credentialing, and instructor management. The Regional Director will troubleshoot and resolve challenges, ensuring timely and effective solutions. In addition, the Regional Director must stay informed and actively participate in all DOE and CTE updates impacting the aerospace program, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines, including regulations on products from countries of concern and drone usage. Event planning and execution are crucial aspects of the role, with responsibilities including the organization of regional competition events. Establishing and maintaining partnerships with industry leaders to support program initiatives and student opportunities is essential, as is regular classroom engagement to provide support and instruction on specialized aerospace topics. Active recruitment of schools and districts for the aerospace programs, participation in field trips, special events, science nights, and other extracurricular activities to promote the program is also expected. The Regional Director must continuously assess and improve program delivery to meet educational goals and standards, making necessary adjustments as the industry and needs change. Flexibility is key, as duties and responsibilities will evolve with the changing landscape of education and the aerospace industry.

  • Knowledge of state and federal educational guidelines and regulations.
  • FAA pilot certification.
  • Advanced ground instructor certification.
  • Maintenance certification.
