About The Position

The University of South Florida is seeking candidates for a faculty position in the field of Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, or related disciplines. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree and demonstrated productivity and leadership in their field. They will complement existing strengths in the Institute, which include epidemiology, biostatistics, statistical genetics, and bioinformatics. The position requires excellence and creativity in research, and candidates must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Assistant/Associate Professor, candidates should have produced creative work and be recognized authorities in their specialization.

Requirements

• Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics/Statistics, Statistical Genetics, Genetic Epidemiology, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated productivity and leadership in the chosen field.
• Excellence and creativity in research.
• Meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of programming proficiency in R or Python and shell scripting on UNIX/Linux environments.
• Experience in analysis of human sequence data using bioinformatics tools.
• Working knowledge of statistical genetics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Use bioinformatics and machine learning tools to analyze high-throughput omic data.
