The Department of English at Fairfield University's Meditz College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English in Professional Writing, starting Fall 2026, pending final budgetary approval. We are seeking a faculty member to develop courses in, teach in, and eventually lead the Professional Writing program within the English Department, as well as teach in the University's nationally-recognized Core Writing program. The standard course load for a tenure-track faculty member assigned to undergraduate teaching is 3-3, on a semester schedule. We welcome candidates with subspecializations in all areas of Rhetoric and Writing Studies, and we encourage candidates whose research, teaching, and/or service has prepared them to contribute to social justice, equity, and inclusion efforts that align with the Jesuit's centuries old mission, at Fairfield University, in communities, and in their disciplines, that align with our University's embrace of the Jesuits' centuries old mission in these areas.
