The English Department of Baruch College, CUNY, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor with a specialization in Postcolonial/South Asian/Global Anglophone Literature. We are seeking a scholar whose scope of expertise includes literature that is both regional and global and who is able to link texts across the specific historical lineaments of post coloniality. Candidates should possess a specialization in South Asian literature and literatures of the South Asian diaspora, especially as they intersect with and deepen knowledge of the theoretical and pedagogical implications of the Global Anglophone. Teaching opportunities will include courses in postcolonial literature, Great Works of Literature (our college-wide world literature requirement), First-Year Writing, and other courses within the successful candidate's research and teaching purview. Our Department and College are committed to supporting faculty that values undergraduate teaching and mentorship as well as interdisciplinary research and teaching. Baruch College serves one of the most culturally diverse undergraduate student bodies in the nation and has been recognized as a foremost engine of upward mobility for students in New York City.
