About The Position

The Science and Health Department at UC Clermont College seeks applications for a full-time, educator-track faculty position in the area of Medical Laboratory Technology. This position involves teaching twelve (12) contact-hours for three semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer), totaling 36 contact hours annually. The individual will focus on teaching medical laboratory technology courses in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats, and may be asked to teach other courses as requested. Responsibilities also include responding to student inquiries, academic advising, participating in ongoing scholarship and professional development, and serving the department, college, university, and community. The role includes serving as the Medical Laboratory Technician Program Coordinator, developing and maintaining a curriculum aligned with industry standards, ensuring compliance with NAACLS accreditation requirements, and managing various program-related responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in relevant discipline.
  • ASCP BOC or ASCP BOC generalist certification as a medical laboratory scientist.
  • At least three (3) years of college-level teaching experience as the primary instructor.
  • Experience with a learning management system (LMS).
  • Knowledge of education methods and administration, and current NAACLS accreditation procedures.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating MLT programs/policies.
  • Experience teaching in both online and traditional classroom environments.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high academic standards.

Responsibilities

  • Teach twelve (12) contact-hours for three semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer), totaling 36 contact hours annually.
  • Focus on teaching medical laboratory technology courses in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
  • Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner and maintain office hours.
  • Provide academic advising to students.
  • Participate in ongoing scholarship, research, and professional development.
  • Serve as the Medical Laboratory Technician Program Coordinator.
  • Develop and maintain a curriculum aligned with current industry credentials and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with NAACLS accreditation requirements.
  • Conduct continuous curriculum evaluation to maintain relevance.
  • Identify and secure clinical partners and coordinate clinical placements.
  • Recommend appropriate course materials and assess lab equipment.
  • Recruit students through events like Open House.
  • Develop and implement a learning outcomes assessment plan.
  • Conduct program reviews and oversee faculty recruitment and staffing.
  • Manage budgets and fulfill accreditation obligations.
  • Establish and lead an Advisory Committee with industry representation.
