About the position
The University of New Mexico is seeking a tenure-line Assistant Professor in Educational Technology within the College of Education and Human Sciences. This position is aimed at candidates who will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in educational technology, develop a research agenda, and contribute to various departmental initiatives. The role is set to begin in August 2025, with a focus on K-12 teacher preparation and leadership programs.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in educational technology.
- Develop an active research agenda in the field of educational technology.
- Advise master's and doctoral students specializing in educational technology.
- Chair and/or serve on theses and doctoral dissertation committees.
- Contribute to program and college partnership initiatives.
Requirements
- Earned doctorate from an accredited university in Educational Technology or a closely related field.
- Experience teaching in K-12 settings.
Nice-to-haves
- Evidence of excellence or potential for excellence in research in the field of educational technology.
- Excellence, or potential for excellence in teaching college level educational technology courses.
- Experience teaching hybrid and/or online courses.
- Ability or demonstrated potential to mentor and supervise graduate students as researchers and/or college-level instructors.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
- Strong identity as an educational technology/instructional design educator.
