About The Position

The Department of Educational Foundations and Counseling Programs at Hunter College is seeking a tenure track Assistant Professor in educational or developmental psychology, effective Fall 2025. The role involves engaging in research, teaching, and service within the academic community, with a focus on multicultural and urban educational settings.

Requirements

  • Earned Ph.D. in educational or developmental psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Ability to teach graduate-level courses in teacher education and educational psychology, including quantitative research methods and/or applied statistics.
  • Strong research agenda related to cognition, motivation, assessment, or human development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work in multicultural and urban settings.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging in research, scholarly writing, and grant work.
  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Teacher Education and Educational Psychology programs.
  • Serving on program, department, school, college, and university committees as appropriate.
  • Providing student advisement.
