About The Position

The Assistant Professor of Educational Administration (Tenure-Track) at Texas Southern University is a 9-month faculty position focused on conducting rigorous academic research, teaching doctoral-level courses, and contributing to the development of the doctoral program in Counselor Education. Requirements

  • Earned doctoral degree in Educational Administration, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, or an equivalent field.
  • Successful K-12 administrative experience with a current principal certificate.
  • Valid Driver's License preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Professional Suite or similar applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of postdoctoral research experience.
  • A record of impactful research publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience teaching in an active learning environment with innovative teaching strategies.
  • Experience writing competitive funding proposals.
  • Experience developing and maintaining a funded research program.
  • Experience fostering a sense of belonging for all students, including traditionally underrepresented populations in Educational Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the discipline area and provide quality instruction.
  • Conduct rigorous academic research and publish in the respective area of discipline.
  • Advise and mentor doctoral students in the Doctor of Education (EDD) program.
  • Collaborate and support colleagues in research interests and co-curricular activities.
  • Participate in college committees and service-related activities.
  • Assess self, students, and teaching techniques to increase effectiveness.
  • Engage in continuous professional development.
