About The Position

The College of Nursing Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Department at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee, is seeking a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Professor. This faculty position will be responsible for the coordination and teaching within the DNP Program: Psychiatric-Mental Health Concentration. The UT Health Science Center embraces four missions: education, research, clinical care, and institutional service.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree from an accredited university required.
  • Two or more years of substantive clinical practice expertise as an advanced practice nurse in psychiatric-mental health nursing is required.
  • Certification/recertification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required.
  • Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse and advanced practice nurse in Tennessee or eligibility to obtain licensure in Tennessee required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior clinical and didactic teaching experience is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in clinical teaching and active engagement in appropriate professional organizations is highly desirable.
  • Evidence of scholarship, including research and/or grants is desirable.
  • Previous leadership experience and active engagement in appropriate professional organizations is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching responsibilities include both didactic coursework and experiential supervision of students.
  • Responsibilities include education along with service, leadership, scholarship, and practice/clinical care.
  • There may be teaching responsibilities outside PMH DNP Concentration.
  • Research/scholarship activities, clinical practice, as well as service responsibilities will be determined in collaboration with the Department Chair.
