About The Position

The Department of Criminal Justice at Radford University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, to begin in August 2022. Candidates should have demonstrated teaching and research experience in the area of diversity issues as related to the criminal justice system. The position requires teaching four undergraduate classes each semester with students from all class levels. Teaching assignments will include the required undergraduate course on diversity issues in criminal justice as well as other required or elective courses in the department. Our faculty engage in professional development and service to the Department, College, University, and broader community. Departmental service includes academic advising and departmental committees.

Requirements

  • A terminal doctoral degree is required in a field related to diversity issues in criminology or criminal justice
  • At least 18 hours of graduate credit in criminology or criminal justice are required
  • Significant evidence of successful teaching at the university level
  • Demonstrating a commitment to teaching excellence and utilization of innovative teaching strategies
  • Demonstrate a commitment to establishing and building a scholarly research agenda
  • Professional activities are expected, including research, presentation, and publication for academic or professional communities
